On October 2nd , the Danish Bioimaging meeting was successfully held at University of Southern Denmark. Eva Arnspang Christensen and Jonathan Brewer from The Danish Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Southern Denmark Bioimaging, and Danish Bioimaging Network arranged this one day Imaging Meeting with four International speakers, six Danish speakers, and 100 participants. Participants got inspired through 10 talks and 20 posters. The presenters covered many areas of imaging – including super-resolution microscopy, electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and light sheet imaging – as well as image analysis and data handling. State-of-the-art techniques were represented by top scientists within imaging techniques. The international speakers were Jonas Ries, EMBL, Heidelberg, Rainer Heintzmann, Jena University, Germany, Paul Wiseman, McGill University, Montreal Canada and Dylan Burnette, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee. Alice Dupont Kragelund, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Southern Denmark won the prize for the best poster. The meeting was followed up by a one day hands-on image analysis work shop where 20 pre-registered PhD students were taught advanced analysis tools within super-resolution microscopy and correlation analysis by the international speakers. In the evening, everyone was invited for a nice dinner in Odense town. The two days were sponsored by Olympus, AH-Diagnostics, BioNordika, Ramcon, Kem-En-Tec, GE Healthcare, Zeiss, The Danish Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and The University of Southern Denmark Bioimaging Initiative. |
